(2) Inflow of external surface water This includes surface runoff and surface irrigation.
The main sources of waste water seepage are:
(1) Infiltration of precipitation Precipitation includes rainfall and snowfall, which are the main sources of leachate production.
(2) Inflow of external surface water This includes surface runoff and surface irrigation.
(3) Infiltration of groundwater When the level of seepage water in the landfill is lower than the groundwater level outside the site, and there is no anti-seepage system, groundwater may seep into the landfill.
(4) Moisture contained in the garbage itself This includes the moisture carried by the garbage itself and the amount of adsorption from the atmosphere and rainwater.
(5) Moisture generated by waste in the process of degradation The organic components in the waste will produce moisture when decomposed in the landfill.
These garbage infiltration water containing high concentrations of pollutants are the most important source of pollution in landfill disposal. If improper measures are taken to control it, it will pollute surface water or groundwater.
